  i am amazed at all of the dresses and skirts that i will never wear again.

  i was joking the other day i need to have a garage sale and advertise to jw's.

  tons of long skirts, and lots of dresses.

  i am fully aware that if anyone in my area were to read this that they will know who i am.

  i was disfellowshipped on january 28th 2010 after an "interview" about an evening of bowling with friends and family back in november 2009. i was among 4 who were disfellowshipped and 6 who were publicly reproved.

  Did they really say that getting drunk just one time was a disfellowshipping offense ? Is that in any of the literature ? NEWs to me and I was a Witness 44 yrs !

  In the congregation I was from half of the congregation would be df'd if our Elders upheld that rule .

  I am very sorry you have experienced the "true brotherly love " . The bad thing about this is they really think they did you a favor .

  These are imperfect men passing judgement on fellow imperfect men (women ) . It never made sense to me how 'they' could presume to know who was or was not repentant .Especially when you openly ,honestly answered their questions .... Why do they try to dig up past mistakes and tag this on as a 'pattern' of behavior ?

  Have schools in your area done away with Holidays ??

  the local public grade schools in our town are doing away with halloween and christmas as a way to appease religions that don't celebrate them !

  now they will have fall changing of seasons celebration and winter celebration .

  instead of halloween costumes students are being asked to wear their school name t-shirts ......

  The comments on the video have reached 126 ! It is very interesting reading the different perspectives . So many parents have objected that now the School board has agreed to listen to their objections . A few comments referred to the Witnesses and how they would not join in the celebrations no matter what it is called .

  my nutbag is still intact but it's a tough road to please others in order to keep a family.

  really tough.. i'm glad this place is still here as it's a haven for you ex-es and a means to help others to see that when man (governing body) is a mediator between christ and oneself, it becomes a cult.. .

  Okay so that is the fairy tale you take comfort in ...great !

  How about getting your mind around this little tid-bit .......Maybe just maybe when we die,we cease to exist . The energy that fueled our brains is used up . Our brain shuts down and turns off , then our body slowing starts to decay back into the elements the Earth can absorb. We cease to exist as the person we once were . Why is this so difficult for people to believe ? I mean where were you before you were born ? Do you have any memory of existing somewhere else ? Did you exisit ? NO. Then why is it so hard to comprehend that is what happens when we die ?

  I have always felt this way ....as a Witness I always thought yeah the resurrection would be really cool if it was true ,but I was also always taught if something sounds to good to be true ,Then it IS too good to be true !

  I need help urgently

  can anyone provide the date, page and para of the watchtowers where it says in the 'koolaid' version that the org is directed by god/holy spirit and the 'public' version where it states they are not.

  i know they are both reasonably recent, possibly 2009. i did have the information written down but, the muppet that i am, i tidied my desk and shredded some paper work and i must have shredded the piece of paper with the dates on.. i need them tonight for sil parents who are visiting........ i'm on a mission.. thanx..

  I think this will be a hard call for the Witnesses in our small town . I can see there being great pressure to not participate by the 'uber-dubs" and then..... those that can think a bit on their own seeing nothing wrong with it .

  I think this is becoming common in other areas of the country ,but this is small town USA heavy into tradition . Already people are refering to the JWs as the religion being offended ....however I know some of the other Christian churches in town are aganist Halloween celebrating . I am really surprised about Christmas though !

  Someone on facebook asked me if I thought any Witnesses would allow their children to participate if the celebration was no longer Halloween or Christmas .?

  I said 'NO' because they still want their kids to be separate ....What do you think ?
